Koning Willem I College | Mensa

Still Design was asked by the Koning Willem I college, to improve the acoustics in the student restaurant. Still Design made a calculation and subsequently equipped the ceiling with acoustic ceiling panels with a very high degree of perforation, behind which an air gap was filled with maximum absorbing material (NRC value of 0.95 in the frequency range of 500 - 2,000 Hz). The existing sound absorbing ceiling could not be cleaned, which is a required in spaces where cooking is done. In order to guarantee the customer that the new Still Design ceiling could be cleaned, and was at least as sound absorbing as the old ceiling, measurements were made before replacing the existing ceiling as well as after.
